Esther Carey is an Assistant Director in the Policy and Strategy section at the National Archives of Australia. The Policy and Strategy section writes policies, standards and advice for Australian Government (Commonwealth) agencies to improve information management practices. Esther was Policy Lead for the development of the National Archives’ Building trust in the public record: managing information and data for government and community policy. Previously she led development of the National Archives’ Information Management Standard for the Australian Government. Esther holds a Master’s degree in Information Management and Systems (Records and Archiving) and a Master’s degree in Museum Studies and Cultural Policy from Monash University. She has a graduate diploma in Information Management (librarianship) from the University of Melbourne.
