Professional Bio
Margaret Cook has a PhD from the University of Queensland. She is a lecturer in history at the University of Sunshine Coast and an Honorary Research Fellow at La Trobe University and University of Queensland. Her latest books are \"A River with a City Problem: A History of Brisbane Floods\" and an edited collection with Scott McKinnon, \"Disasters in Australia and New Zealand: Historical Approaches to Understanding Catastrophe\". Margaret continues to operate her consultancy business as an historian (established in 1994). Her work includes cultural heritage studies and management plans; commissioned histories; land tenure work; oral history; cultural tourism and museum displays. Her clients include Government Departments, private individuals and corporations.
