Helen Hopper
Professional Bio
Helen Hopper is the archivist at Edith Cowan University. She holds an MA in Archives and Records Management (University of Liverpool) and a BA (Hons) History (UCL), and has worked in a range of archival institutions in Australia and England, including Lancashire Record Office, West Yorkshire Archive Service, Royal Northern College of Music, Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Library and the South Australian Museum. Whilst in South Australia she was also an anthropological researcher on a Native Title claim. After 6 years as an archivist at Australian National University and the Noel Butlin Archives, Helen had a brief sojourn on the Isle of Man, with a Records Management role for the Cabinet Office, Isle of Man Government, before returning to Australia’s sunny shores to take up the Archivist post at ECU. She is passionate about making archives accessible and bringing history to life.
